Kim, Copenhagen elopement photographer
About Kim

I am here to capture your love, the raw emotions, and the beauty of your relationship. To keep those memories forever.

I’m Kim, a photographer based in Copenhagen. Originally from Germany, I spent years shooting for commercial brands, actors, and models before focusing on elopements and town hall weddings. Inspired by nature, Scandinavia, movement, and the sea, my style is natural, emotional, and minimalistic.

That background is useful here. I know how to work with available light, how to move through a city, find different backgrounds, and how to make people feel comfortable in front of a camera.

I have lived and photographed in Copenhagen for four years. By now I know exactly which courtyards, canal streets, and quiet corners work as a backdrop for your portraits.

I photograph all love stories, without exception.

The city

Copenhagen has a portrait backdrop around every corner. I know exactly where to look.

The city hall interior is romantic and has a good variety of pretty backgrounds. From there, the courtyard at Københavns Byret, the canals, and the side streets of the city centre are all within walking distance. I plan locations based on the season, the weather and the light, and how you would like the photos to feel.

Copenhagen City Hall

Rådhuspladsen 1. Romantic interior, iconic building. Civil ceremony runs 5 to 10 minutes.

Byret Courtyard

Stone arches, clean lines, quiet. Five minutes on foot from the city hall. Strong afternoon light.

City Streets and Canals

Side streets off Strøget, doorways, canal reflections. Urban without being crowded, if you know where to go.

Christiansborg Palace

Cobblestone square, stone archways, and the palace tower above. About 15 minutes on foot from the city hall and one of the best portrait courtyards in the city.

Questions

What couples usually ask

Yes, and often. Copenhagen is one of the most welcoming cities in the world for LGBTQ couples. I photograph same-sex, mixed, and non-binary couples without any difference in how I work or what you receive.

Civil ceremonies at Copenhagen City Hall are typically 5 to 10 minutes. My packages run from 2 to 4.5 hours in total. Each one starts when we meet, usually 15 to 20 minutes before the ceremony, and covers the ceremony plus portrait time in the city.

No. I work in English with most of my clients, and I also speak German. The majority of couples I photograph come from outside Denmark. Copenhagen is one of Europe’s most international places to get married.

Yes, Frederiksberg is covered by the same package. Just mention it when you book and I will plan accordingly. The area also has some of the best portrait locations in the city, particularly the gardens and surrounding streets.

Your gallery is delivered within four weeks via a private online link, ready to download or share.

Transport within central Copenhagen and Frederiksberg is included in the package. For ceremonies outside central Copenhagen, a small travel fee applies. Get in touch and I can give you the exact figure for your location.
