Portrait locations
in Nordborg
Three locations I use for wedding portraits near Nørherredhus Hotel in Nordborg. Nordborg Castle is my primary recommendation — it is where I take most couples on Als. The beach is a strong second option when the weather allows.

Castle
My primary recommendation for portrait sessions on Als. Nordborg Castle dates to around 1150 and sits directly on the lake. It is the location that gives a wedding gallery the most variation in a single visit — castle wall, lake edge, and surrounding trees, all within a short walk of each other. The castle is a boarding school and cannot be entered, but the grounds and lakeside are open.
The stone and water combination works in most light conditions. If you have time for one portrait location after the ceremony, this is it.

Strand
A 10-minute drive from the hotel. Sand, open water, and the wide Als sky. Open and horizontal — a complete contrast to the castle. Works best on clear days when the light comes across the water.

Hotel grounds
The natural starting point right after the ceremony. No travel needed — it gives you time to settle before we move to the castle. The first portraits of the day are often the most spontaneous.
